I am hoping the time you read this article, our new RRROCA website is operating. Please take the time to check it out. It’s live, interactive and really is the “ Hub of Information” for the community. The new directory is set up similar to a shopping mall directory. All the business in the area, for all different needs. We would like to encourage residents to “Shop local, Support Local and reduce your footprint”. We cannot thank Hazim enough for all the hours of work on this website and what a terrific job he has done. (all on his own time). Make sure you join our FaceBook, for interesting updates and your chance to give immediate feedback.The first few months of this year has been very demanding on the boards time, building and launching a new website, new logo by Hazim, Jonathan designing posters, working the magic on Facebook and sourcing all the best printing prices for several projects. Pam launching sports, getting sponsors and leading her team of Leah and Nancy. Carla our new editor of the Suburban Journal ensuring more content that relates to our community is added, has done a superb job, we have had the best feedback ever on the SJ. The never tiring Monique, cleaning up memberships, throwing ideas everywhere and keeping me in check. Lilan cleaning up the books with a new system and Loretta pitching in with memberships. Jeff’s work has increased with the mid school rally, many interviews, communicating with student council and going to school meetings. Brian helping out at registration and getting on top of the traffic department is time consuming. Michelle doing all the leg work with the business directory. Last but not least, Brian P developing the business plan for the hockey rink was a ton of work.
We continue to encourage everyone to purchase a RRROCA membership, all the events we do are funded by membership fees. If you already have a membership, thanks! Please ask your friends if they have one too.
I am so impressed by the dedication and the time our board members have given the past few months, it has not be easy with working and family to juggle at the same time. If you recognize them from their pictures, please throw them a big thanks, they deserve it!
