Ward-SutherlandThe New Year is underway for the RRROCA board and volunteers.  As mentioned, our goal is to be the “Hub of Information” for our community.  Hazim is working hard on our new website and Jonathon has made improvements to Facebook and created some great posters.  Tweeter will be up and running soon.  Pamela and her team have done the Sports registration and will be making some positive changes to the program this year.  We will be hosting a Middle School Rally on Monday February 18th (Family Day)  11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Rocky Ridge Ranch.  There will be skating, music and Hot chocolate.  Bring your warm clothes and come out and make your voice heard.   The more people out, the more we will be heard!   Check the rrroca.org site for additional information.

I would like to introduce the following new directors positions for this coming term, that will contribute to making RRROCA the “Hub of Information”.  Hazim Al Hakeem is the Communications Director in charge of Website and email systems.  Jonathon Dutkieqicz is the Social Media Director in charge of Facebook, Tweeter, Signage and creative print.  Pamela Dais-Nichol is the Sports & Recreation Director in charge of Sports, Open Spaces/Wetlands, Rink etc., along with Team leaders Nancy Wiebe & Leah Melnyk.  I am very excited that they have decided to join our team and have already brought wave of enthusiasm and great ideas!  Jeff Walker has now taken on the Vice President role and is in charge of homeowners assn. engagement and schools.  Brian Pearson has taken on the Outdoor Rink Project lead, please check website for updates.  Carla Knipe has taken on the role of Newsletter Editor & Liaison.

I would like to thank our departing directors, Sriharsha Veluvolu and Sean Fraser for their time and service on the board.  It is much appreciated and I am pleased that Sean has decided to help out by being the Team Lead under the Sports and Recreation portfolio.

As mentioned previously, I have posted my picture in the spirit of community engagement.  If you recognize me, when I am out and about in the community, feel free to stop me and introduce yourself.

Regards.
