I am both the community newsletter editor and Community Engagement Director. These roles aren’t as exclusive of one another as one might think. As a writer, I know how valuable and important stories are. As Engagement Director, I want to get a community dialogue going. I want people to be able to tell their stories–how they came to live in this community, what they like (and even don’t like) about where we live and, most importantly, I want to encourage everyone to use their talents to make the community better. Community building in Rocky Ridge and Royal Oak isn’t just done by the RRROCA Board. Every one of us is an important part of that. Hopefully, I can help inspire people to start that process.
I live in Rocky Ridge with my husband and son. Aside from my volunteer roles with RRROCA, I work part time as a school assistant. In my spare time, I enjoy being outside, travelling, reading, and writing.
