Hello Rocky Ridge and Royal Oak communities.
I am sending out this message in hopes it can be forward wide within your communities.
Early this week there were two nighttime break and enters into occupied homes in the Royal Birch area of Royal Oak. These two break and enters followed a previous nighttime prowler in Rocky Ridge the week before where the homeowner was able to hold onto the suspect for police. There appears to be multiple suspects working your communities.
Method of entry is mixed; forcing the rear door or entering unlocked windows. Valuables have be taken but so far no injuries reported. These situations are potentially dangerous if a homeowner come face to face with a prowler.
Please take extra caution by securing ground level windows and doors. Also, remove the garage overhead door opener from your vehicle if parked outside your residence. It is easy to access/break into a parked vehicle to obtain the opener.
Call 911 if you see a crime in progress! Also report suspicious activity by calling 403-266-1234.
