{"id":269,"date":"2012-02-19T18:44:05","date_gmt":"2012-02-19T18:44:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rrroca.org\/en\/?p=269"},"modified":"2013-03-11T18:46:37","modified_gmt":"2013-03-11T18:46:37","slug":"oil-well-update-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rrroca.org\/en\/oil-well-update-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Oil Well Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RE: Oil Well Application #1695605, Licence #0441737<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Dear Residents;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>We would like to thank the 500 plus residents who participated in the oil well information \u201c Open House\u201d\u00a0 February 11, 2012.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Although the application has been approved by the ERCB, we have applied for a review of the process with the ERCB board and looking at all possible avenues to have the surface rights application denied.\u00a0 We are waiting for a reply if our hearing request is granted by the ERCB board.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>We have taken the following actions:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Submitted the initial review variance request for a hearing with the ERCB board to review the current application.<\/li>\n<li>Submitted an additional letter outlining new findings from the open house to the ERCB board.<\/li>\n<li>Contacted and continue dialogue with the City of Calgary, Alderman Hodges and Lowe.<\/li>\n<li>Contacted and requested our MLA Lindsay Blackett to present our objections to the Minister of Energy.<\/li>\n<li>Submitted our concerns regarding Directive 056 and the 100 meter radius rule.<\/li>\n<li>Submitted our request for the ERCB to implement an Urban policy.<\/li>\n<li>Conducted a survey of our residents and communicated the results to all parties concerned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p>Actions to be implemented:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>We are forming a sub-committee to specifically address all components of the oil well.\u00a0 We are asking for volunteers to contact us by the following address:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:oilwellvolunteer@rrroca.com\">oilwellvolunteer@rrroca.com<\/a> We are specifically looking for geologist, engineers and safety profession in the industry.\u00a0 Additionally for door to door people.<\/li>\n<li>We are asking everyone to express their concerns to the ERCB at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:review_variance@ercb.ca\">review_variance@ercb.ca<\/a> and the Energy Minster Ted Morton at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:minister.energy@gov.ab.ca\">minister.energy@gov.ab.ca<\/a><\/li>\n<li>After the committee is formed, further actions will be communicated through the website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RE: Oil Well Application #1695605, Licence #0441737 Dear Residents; We would like to thank the 500 plus residents who participated in the oil well information \u201c Open House\u201d\u00a0 February 11, 2012.
